Willkommen! (That’s German for Welcome)

So you want to know more about me? Here’s a little something to get you started…

My name is Kennice (pronounced Ken-niece) Halloran. I have been described by friends as “fun-loving, spontaneous and ambitious with enough street smarts and spunk to make life interesting and cause a little mischief every now and then.” I have enjoyed a misspent youth of playing sports, traveling the world and chasing my dreams while always keeping a camera by my side.

Photography has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I credit my Aunt Susan (an extremely accomplished photographer) for getting me started. Her work has graced the walls of my childhood home since long before I was born. Blame/credit can also be given to my mother who donated her old Minolta to my addiction for my 14th birthday. That camera saw me through high school and my first trip to Europe.

After graduating from college and doing some traveling I finally decided to settle in Chicago. I currently spend my days as a project/account manager for an interactive advertising agency. It is a job that has brought me great joy over the years but I began to crave a creative outlet to my very structured days. I decided to pick up my camera again (this time a DSLR) and take a class to refresh my knowledge of the basics. My love renewed, I have been shooting non-stop since.

I find myself drawn to wedding and lifestyle/portraiture photography because I like to capture the raw moments of magic found in everyday life. With encouragement from friends and family who have been the subjects (victims) of my ongoing love affair with the camera, I am starting to take my passion to a new level as a professional.
